Changwon Special City Provides Operation and Ethics Training for Apartment Resident Representative Council Members

Practical Training on Major Legal Amendments and Audit Findings Provided

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will hold the ‘2024 Apartment Resident Representatives Council Operation and Ethics Training’ on the 18th at the Masanhappo-gu Office main conference room for approximately 400 members of resident representatives councils from over 370 mandatory management apartment complexes in the city.

This training is a legally required course under Article 17 of the “Apartment Housing Management Act,” which mandates that members of the resident representatives council complete four hours of training annually. The city plans to invite experts in the field of apartment housing to provide education on key legislative amendments, duties, competencies and ethics of council members, activation of apartment complex communities, and major issues identified in apartment management audits, with the goal of supporting practical apartment management.

In particular, according to the results of the first half apartment management audit (conducted in 10 complexes), apartment complexes with higher completion rates of operation and ethics training for resident representatives councils had relatively fewer audit findings. Therefore, the city aims to use this training to raise interest in apartment management and strengthen the capabilities of council members.

Park Hyeonho, Director of Urban Policy, stated, “Through this training, we plan to educate council members on key legislative amendments and practical cases that will be helpful to them, and we will strive to foster a smooth residential community culture befitting the status of a special city.”
