Yangsan City to Hold 'Public Hearing on Construction of Municipal Art Museum' on the 17th

A Forum for Gathering Public and Expert Opinions on the Direction of Museum Construction

Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, will hold a public hearing on the construction of the Yangsan City Art Museum at 1:30 PM on the 17th at the performance hall on the first floor of the Yangsan Cultural Center.

This public hearing aims to gather opinions from citizens and related experts on the Yangsan City Art Museum and to build a consensus. Any citizen interested in the construction of the municipal art museum can attend on the day without prior registration.

Currently, the city is promoting the construction of the Yangsan City Art Museum and the Yangsan Cultural and Arts Center in Beomeo-ri, Mulgeum-eup, Yangsan City, to expand opportunities for citizens to enjoy diverse cultural experiences. The Cultural and Arts Center and the Yangsan City Art Museum are expected to serve as a central hub for culture and the arts in Yangsan as a complex cultural facility.

At the public hearing, the progress of the ongoing 'Feasibility Study and Establishment of Basic and Detailed Plans for the Construction of the Yangsan City Art Museum' will be presented, followed by presentations and discussions by art museum experts and the collection of various opinions from citizens.

Mayor Na Dongyeon said, "To build an art museum with a unique identity for Yangsan City, we will faithfully reflect the opinions gathered at the public hearing in the construction plan for the Yangsan City Art Museum and push forward with the project. As this public hearing is an opportunity to consider the unique direction of our municipal art museum and collect a wide range of opinions, I hope for the active interest and participation of our citizens."

Since the beginning of this year, the city has been steadily making basic preparations for the construction of the Yangsan City Art Museum, including the recruitment of a new curator specializing in art history, conducting a feasibility study and establishing basic and detailed plans for the museum, conducting a citizen survey to gather opinions on the construction, enacting an ordinance for the collection of museum holdings, and carrying out an open call for art collections.

The city plans to finalize the project plan by the end of this year and apply for the preliminary feasibility review for the construction of a public art museum by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism next year.
