A Communication Platform for Young Entrepreneurs in Regional Regeneration
"Continuing ESG Activities to Revitalize Local Communities"
SK E&S announced on the 8th that it held the '2024 Localize Gunsan Festival' over two days starting from the 4th in the Gaebok-dong area of Gunsan City, Jeollabuk-do.
Localize Gunsan is a project that SK E&S first launched in the private sector in 2019 with the purpose of supporting regional revitalization through the creation of youth jobs.
This year’s Localize Gunsan was organized as an opportunity for young regional revitalization entrepreneurs not only from Gunsan but also from across the country to share business-related ideas and communicate. Key achievements of Localize Gunsan, now in its sixth year, as well as startup items from 'I’m in Busan,' a regional revitalization project launched last year in Busan, were also exhibited.

Visitors explored products made by Gunsan-based entrepreneurs such as white glutinous barley products and recycled products made from waste plastic, and experienced various products and ideas including eco-friendly shoes developed by participants of I’m in Busan.
At the side event 'Play the Local' talk concert, young entrepreneurs and university and public-private cooperation officials attended to discuss ways to promote startup activation. A special lecture by Professor Jongrin Mo from Yonsei University Graduate School of International Studies on the theme 'What is Local?' also followed.
An SK E&S official said, "The Localize Festival has established itself as an event that encourages the expansion of networks and collaboration among young entrepreneurs nationwide beyond the Gunsan region as it continues. Even after the merger with SK Innovation, we will continue ESG innovative management activities that breathe new life into local communities and lay the foundation for a leap forward."
