Disruptive Behavior After Incorrect Card PIN Entry
A customer visiting a bank was caught on camera swearing at employees and other customers, drawing widespread criticism.
On the 7th, JTBC's 'Incident Chief' reported a story received about a disturbance that occurred on the 4th at a bank in Seoul, which caused bank operations to be halted for about 30 minutes.
According to the informant, the problematic female customer shouted in protest after entering her card PIN incorrectly and encountering an issue. The customer raised her voice, saying, "I came here to do business, but I'm stressed out because of that, so it can't be done." Other customers asked her to "please be quiet," but instead, the customer yelled harsh insults such as "Who the hell do you think you are! Damn it!", "Not going to be quiet? Mind your own business! Damn it!"
When a bank employee said, "We cannot assist you at this branch," the customer replied, "Just tell me how far the process has been completed." The employee then said, "Then take a number and wait," which angered the customer, who said, "How can a bank operate like this?" Eventually, the bank's security guard politely asked her to leave, but the customer resisted and refused to go. Even after the police were called and arrived, the customer's disturbance continued.
The informant said, "At the time, it seemed like the customer was blaming the staff after pressing the card PIN incorrectly and causing a problem," and added, "When I asked the security guard present at the scene, they said the problematic customer often causes trouble at the bank, saying things like 'You guys should set my card PIN for me.'
Netizens who saw the story responded with various comments such as, "If you entered the wrong PIN, you should take a number, wait, and get a reissue," "Isn't that habitual business obstruction at that level?" "Why take out your anger on bank employees?" "Why cause trouble for others?" "They should be sued for obstructing business," and "I can't believe there are still people like that."
