Recruitment of Candidates from 7th to 31st, Final Selection in December
Gijang-gun, Busan, will be accepting applications for the selection of 2024 second half 'Gijang-gun Scholarship' recipients until the 31st.
The county recruits scholarship students twice a year, in the first and second half, in accordance with the 'Gijang-gun Scholarship Fund Establishment and Operation Ordinance' to promote academic stability for local students and foster human resources for regional development.
For university students, scholarships of up to 2 million KRW per person are provided within the range of self-paid tuition fees, depending on categories such as academic excellence, welfare, multi-child families, and special talents. For elementary, middle, and high school students, 500,000 KRW per person is provided in the special talent scholarship category.
Eligibility requires that, as of the recommendation date by the town or township head (November 1), either the student or their parents must have continuously resided in Gijang-gun for at least one year according to the resident registration, and all detailed criteria for each selection category must be met.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the administrative welfare center of the town or township corresponding to the applicant's resident registration address. The county will conduct a review in November and a deliberation by the scholarship committee in December, after which the final recipients will be selected and scholarships awarded.
County Governor Jeong Jongbok said, "I hope the Gijang-gun Scholarship will be a great support to students and families facing financial difficulties."
For detailed application methods, search for 'scholarship' in the notice/announcement section of the Gijang-gun website, or inquire at the Gijang-gun Education and Youth Division or the administrative welfare center of your resident registration address.
