The signing ceremony was attended by about 50 people, including Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan, Lee Sang-bok, Chairman of Osan City Council, Jang Chung-nam, Governor of Namhae County, and Jeong Young-ran, Chairman of Namhae County Council.

Mayor Lee Gwon-jae said, "Osan is a central city in southern Gyeonggi, growing into a self-sufficient connect city with a population of 500,000 through attracting advanced semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment industries and regional development. We will continue to communicate and cooperate so that various cultural and industrial facilities owned by the city can be exchanged with Namhae County."

Governor Jang Chung-nam also responded, "I hope that Osan, leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution through research and development (R&D), and Namhae, an ecological tourism hub representing the Namhae coastal tourism belt, will cooperate to build a foundation for mutual prosperity."

The city plans to use this sister city agreement as an opportunity to establish a foundation for mutual growth between regions by promoting tourism through operating direct sales markets for local specialties and offering discounts on admission fees to tourist attractions for residents of sister cities.
