National Intangible Heritage Center 'Hwarak Yeonhui'
The National Intangible Heritage Center announced on the 7th that it will hold the 'Intangible Heritage Festival ? Hwarak Yeonhui (和樂宴熙)' from the 17th to the 20th. The festival offers various performances, exhibitions, film festivals, and experiences based on four themes: 'Heung (Joyful)', 'On (Screen)', 'Beot (With)', and 'Eol (Interacting)'. Hwarak Yeonhui means the shining joy in a harmonious and joyful feast.
At the opening ceremony, the Cheoyong Dance Preservation Society, Iri Nongak Preservation Society, and Pansori Heungboga master Inancho will present the performance 'Dangsan Party,' which harmonizes tradition and modernity. There will also be performances that express the artistic value of intangible heritage. In particular, the late master Yang Sowoon, a holder of the national intangible heritage Bongsan Talchum, is honored by his juniors through the master homage performance 'Noldagaseuna,' which inherits his artistic spirit.
There will also be events where visitors can experience the charm of intangible heritage through vivid visual materials. The film festival 'The COOK' offers a new perspective on the relationship between traditional foods of various countries and intangible heritage. Additionally, a media facade (a technique that projects images using LED lighting) will be showcased on the Namcheon Bridge Cheongyeonru, which connects the National Intangible Heritage Center and Hanok Village, as well as on the exterior wall of the National Intangible Heritage Center.
Furthermore, various events will be held, including 'The Artisan's Touch, The Breath of Tradition,' which introduces works by holders of national intangible heritage functional categories and transmission educators, and the World Intangible Heritage Forum themed 'Migration, Expanding the Horizon of Intangible Heritage.'
