Tranquil Museom Scenery: Autumn Companionship
Fully Embracing the Charm Where History and Present Coexist
The '2024 Yeongju Museom Oenamudari Festival', which unfolded alongside the tranquil atmosphere of Museom Village, has come to a close.
On the 7th, Yeongju City announced that the festival was held at Museom Village from the 5th to the 6th, with many tourists enjoying the festival under the clear sky and cool autumn breeze.
This year's festival, held under the theme 'Museom Oenamudari, I Will Live in Museom', featured a variety of programs reflecting the lives of Museom Village residents and traditional culture.
In addition to the main programs such as the Museom Oenamudari Performance & Traditional Wedding Reenactment and the Traditional Funeral Procession Reenactment, there were various events including an open music concert, busking, and traditional game experiences, allowing citizens and tourists to fully enjoy their autumn outing.
This year, nighttime programs such as 'Astronomical Observation' and 'Nightscape Lighting', where visitors could directly witness the calm night sky and splendid scenery of Museom Village, as well as spaces like the 'Museom Healing Rest Area', 'Sand Sculpture Exhibition', and 'Healing Rope Experience' set up on the sandy beach, gained popularity.
Kim Junki (41, Suseong-gu, Daegu), a tourist, said, "As I crossed the Oenamudari under the clear autumn sun, it felt like a time travel as century-old traditional houses appeared," adding, "Now, whenever the cool autumn breeze blows, I think I will remember the Museom Oenamudari Festival."
Park Namseo, Mayor of Yeongju, said, "For over 350 years, the Oenamudari was the only passage for village residents to travel to and from the mainland," and added, "I hope this festival was a time to once again feel the charm of Museom Village, which preserves the breath of history while coexisting with the present."
