Ulsan World Future Industry Expo to Be Held November 6-8
Showcasing Latest Technology Trends and New Growth Industries
Ulsan City will host the 'Ulsan World Advanced Value Expo (WAVE) 2024' at the Ulsan Exhibition and Convention Center (UECO) from November 6 to 8.
Since the opening of UECO in April 2021, Ulsan City has been striving to strengthen its competitiveness in the exhibition and convention (MICE) industry by holding regionally specialized exhibitions such as the Ulsan International Hydrogen Energy Exhibition and Safety Industry Week.
Starting this year, the city has expanded the Ulsan Non-Ferrous Metals Expo, which previously showcased non-ferrous metal smelting technologies, and rebranded it as the 'Ulsan World Advanced Value Expo,' highlighting Ulsan's key industries and advanced technologies in emerging sectors.
The expo will integrate seven previously separate events, including the Secondary Battery Industry Exhibition, International Hydrogen Energy Forum, Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Industry Development Forum, and export and procurement consultations, to become Ulsan's largest international industrial expo.
Furthermore, the latest technologies from Ulsan's core and emerging industries will be showcased on a grand scale, aiming to spread the wave of future innovation technologies originating in Ulsan to the world. The expo will present a vision for Ulsan's cutting-edge technologies and new growth industries, organized into five themed zones.
The five themed zones are: ▲Ulsan Battery Tech Plus (U-BATTERY TECH+) Zone (full-cycle supply chain of the secondary battery industry) ▲Neuron AI Plus (Neuron AI+) Zone (AI-based future industries) ▲Smart Mobility Zone (urban air mobility (UAM), autonomous vehicles, etc.) ▲Future Energy Zone (hydrogen, distributed energy, and other renewable energies) ▲Startup Zone (startups with innovative technologies established within the past seven years).
Major Ulsan-based conglomerates such as Korea Zinc, Samsung SDI, LS MnM, SK Energy, S-oil, and Hyundai Motor Company will participate to demonstrate the city's industrial competitiveness.
A variety of international forums will also be held.
Key events include: ▲U-BATTERY TECH+ Forum and Ulsan-style Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Industry Development Forum on November 7 ▲Ulsan International Hydrogen Energy Forum on November 8. Top-tier speakers from leading global companies (global anchor companies) will deliver keynote speeches.
Renowned speakers from Korea and abroad will share the latest trends in their respective fields. In addition, various programs such as export consultations with invited overseas buyers, procurement consultations with large corporations and public institutions, and startup investment presentations (IR pitching) will actively support participating companies in attracting investment.
A city official stated, "Through this event, we aim to promote Ulsan City's business-friendly policies and industrial competitiveness worldwide. We will also operate industrial site tour programs for participating companies and domestic and overseas buyers to create new value through industrial convergence and further enhance business competitiveness. Our goal is to develop the Ulsan World Advanced Value Expo into a world-class exhibition, alongside events like Hannover Messe (Germany) and the Consumer Electronics Show (USA)."
This event is co-hosted by Ulsan City and the Committee for Shared Growth, and co-organized by the Ulsan Foundation for Culture and Tourism, Ulsan Economic and Job Promotion Agency, Ulsan Technopark, Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Ulsan Regional Headquarters, Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Korea Hydrogen Industry Association.
Admission is free with either pre-registration or on-site registration, but visitors who pre-register on the website by November 5 can enter without waiting at the venue.
