‘Hwang Jae-gyun and Divorce Announcement’ T-ara Jiyeon
Attends 'T-ara 15th Anniversary Fan Meeting' on the 7th
Professional baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun (KT Wiz) and T-ara's Jiyeon (real name Park Ji-yeon), who recently announced their separation, will make their first official appearance following their divorce announcement.
Jiyeon is scheduled to attend the ‘T-ara 15th Anniversary Fan Meeting’ held in Macau on the 7th. She previously shared a preview video of the fan meeting on her YouTube channel, expressing her excitement about meeting fans after more than two years. However, attention is focused on whether Jiyeon will share her feelings in front of fans following the announcement of her divorce from Hwang Jae-gyun.
On the 5th, Jiyeon’s legal representative, law firm Taeseong, stated, “Both parties were unable to overcome their differences, and after a period of separation, they agreed to divorce and have submitted a divorce mediation application to the Seoul Family Court to proceed with the process.” Through her legal representative, Jiyeon expressed, “I am sorry to greet you with unfortunate news first. We have mutually agreed to proceed with the mediation process for divorce. Please understand that we were unable to make a prompt statement.”
Hwang Jae-gyun said, “Due to personality differences, after much consideration and a period of separation, we agreed to divorce. We have already submitted a divorce mediation application to the Seoul Family Court and plan to complete the process amicably.” He added, “Although our relationship as a married couple has ended, we will continue to support and cheer for each other’s paths ahead. I sincerely apologize once again for disappointing our fans.”
Rumors about Jiyeon and Hwang Jae-gyun’s divorce began circulating in June. The speculation intensified when a commentator during a professional baseball broadcast was overheard saying, “Did you know? Hwang Jae-gyun got divorced,” which was picked up by the microphone and aired. Subsequently, Jiyeon’s suspension of YouTube activities and her absence of a wedding ring fueled further divorce rumors, and on the 5th, the couple finally confirmed their divorce.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jae-gyun appears to be focusing on his professional career. His team, KT Wiz, is scheduled to play against the LG Twins on the 8th at KT’s home stadium, Suwon KT Wiz Park.
