Negative Ratings Drop 2.7% to 68.1%
People Power Party 32.7%, Democratic Party 42.4%
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his national administration, which had fallen to its lowest level since his inauguration last week, has rebounded. However, the approval rating still remained in the 20% range.
According to a public opinion poll released on the 7th by polling firm Realmeter (conducted on behalf of Energy Economy Newspaper over three days?September 30, October 1, and October 3?targeting 1,504 voters aged 18 and older, with 97% wireless and 3% wired automated responses), President Yoon's approval rating rose by 2.1 percentage points from the previous week (the fourth week of September) to 27.9%. Realmeter evaluated that "the approval rating rebounded after one week but remained in the 20% range for two consecutive weeks."
The negative evaluation that "the national administration is being poorly managed" decreased by 2.7 percentage points from the previous week to 68.1%.
President Yoon's approval rating showed a notable recovery among those in their 60s (up 5.0 percentage points, from 31.3% to 36.3%) and those aged 70 and above (up 5.4 percentage points, from 40.8% to 46.2%). Regarding political orientation, the approval rating among respondents identifying as conservatives also rose by 3.5 percentage points (from 46.5% to 50.0%).
In a survey related to party support (conducted on behalf of Energy Economy Newspaper from October 2 to 4, targeting 1,004 voters aged 18 and older, with 97% wireless and 3% wired automated responses), the People Power Party's support increased by 2.8 percentage points from the previous week to 32.7%. The Democratic Party of Korea fell by 0.8 percentage points to 42.4%. The Jo Guk Innovation Party was at 8.6%, and the Reform New Party at 5.1%.
