The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) announced on the 7th that it will prioritize the issuance of the 'indoor architectural and facility demolition work' during the design service period, which began in July, to start construction early in October.

This result was achieved by applying the fast-track method, which runs design and construction concurrently in large-scale construction projects, to shorten the project duration.

The Jowon Government Building space restructuring project is being carried out professionally and systematically to preserve the historical value of the former Southern Government Building and to utilize the space efficiently. In March of this year, a basic plan for space restructuring was established, and a dedicated team of technical public officials within the Talent Development Bureau was set up and is operating to promote the project.

This project is significant as it is the first case to apply the fast-track method in educational finance facility projects.

Accordingly, it is expected to achieve effects such as ▲ shortening the project period by 3 months ▲ saving approximately 30 million KRW in temporary construction costs ▲ saving about 300 million KRW in demolition supervision fees through self-monitoring.

Jin Sung-gyu, Director of the Talent Development Support Division at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, “We will make every effort to achieve zero serious accidents and safety incidents while promoting the Jowon Government Building space restructuring project,” and added, “We will actively strive to utilize this excellent case of applying the fast-track method in future remodeling projects of aging school facilities.”
