Adding Efficiency to Residents' Daily Lives with Protection from Heatwaves and Cold Snaps, Easy Health Checks, and Job Information
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is officially operating the ‘Smart Complex Shelter,’ which uses advanced technology to provide residents with a comfortable air space and various information throughout all four seasons.
The Gwanak-gu Smart Complex Shelters have been established at three locations: ▲in front of Yangji Hospital ▲in front of Nakseongdae Park ▲in front of Seoul National University Main Gate.
Residents can be protected from external environmental factors such as cold waves, heat waves, and fine dust at the shelters based on the Internet of Things (IoT) system, while also using accurate bus location information and various smart functions.
First, the shelter interior is equipped with a heating and cooling system, allowing residents using public transportation to wait for buses comfortably?cool in summer and warm in winter. Real-time bus arrival information and bus entry videos can also be viewed, enabling efficient use of public transportation.
Additionally, the Smart Complex Shelter is designed not just as a bus stop but as a space where various smart services can be experienced.
In particular, the district has introduced a ‘Smart Healthcare Service’ inside the shelter. Residents using the shelter can easily check their health status by non-contact measurement of body temperature, blood pressure, and stress levels.
The shelter also serves as a ‘digital platform’ providing various information. Through kiosks, it delivers district news and job information, and especially allows participation in surveys on district policies, acting as a communication channel with residents.
The Smart Complex Shelter operates from 4 a.m. to midnight (24:00). To prepare for emergencies, the district installed CCTV and emergency bells inside the shelter, creating a space where residents can use it with peace of mind.
Furthermore, residents who have difficulty using their mobile phones in urgent situations can use free Wi-Fi and wireless charging functions.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “We have created a space where busy residents can use public transportation more conveniently and make efficient use of bus waiting time. We will continue to actively utilize smart technology to solve various issues and strive to improve the quality of life for residents.”
