Testimony has emerged that the victim, who was murdered by Park Daesung (30) and sent to the prosecution in custody, called a friend just before the incident to express feelings of anxiety.

On the 4th, SBS's 'Curious Story Y' featured testimony from B, a friend of the victim A (18). B said, "I received a call from A around 12:30 a.m., when I was about to go to sleep. (A) said things like 'There is a man behind me and I’m scared,' and 'I think I’m going to be stabbed.'

She continued, "Then suddenly I heard a lot of running," and explained the situation at the time: "When I asked what was going on, A suddenly screamed and said, 'Please report this.'" B also revealed a call record with A at around 12:29 a.m. on the day of the incident, last month on the 26th. The time of A’s murder was around 12:44 a.m. that day.

Earlier, Park Daesung was drinking alone at a store he runs when he happened to spot A passing by. He chased her for about 800 meters and attacked her from behind. It is understood that A had gone out to buy medicine on behalf of her ailing father when the incident occurred. After the crime, Park was caught on CCTV with what appeared to be a smiling expression, causing shock.

During the police investigation, it was revealed that Park Daesung had no prior acquaintance with the deceased A, and there was no evidence of grudges or financial motives. The Suncheon Police Station in Jeollanam-do handed Park over to the prosecution on the 4th on charges of murder.

On that day, Park Daesung appeared before the press after leaving the police station without covering his face with a mask or hat. When asked questions such as "How much do you remember about the crime?" and "Are you sorry to the victim?" he responded briefly with answers like "A little" and "I’m sorry."

Meanwhile, the Jeollanam-do Police Agency held a personal information disclosure review committee on the 30th of last month and decided to disclose Park Daesung’s personal information. The committee judged that the brutality of the crime and the seriousness of the victim’s harm were recognized. This is the first time the Jeollanam-do Police Agency has disclosed the personal information of a suspect in a heinous crime.
