Charged with Home Invasion, Sentenced to 22 Months in Prison
A bizarre story has emerged about a thief who broke into a home but did not touch any valuable items, instead cleaning, cooking, and even leaving a note behind.
On the 4th (local time), the British BBC reported on a recent case where a thief broke into a woman’s house, did household chores such as cleaning and cooking, and then left. The thief, a man in his 30s named Demian Boynilovitz, was charged with breaking and entering and sentenced to 22 months in prison by the court.
The female victim noticed something unusual when she arrived home after work on July 16. The recycling bin had been completely emptied, and items in the garden had been moved. On the dining table, there was a bottle of wine, a glass, and a corkscrew, and in the living room, a bowl full of candy was placed.

According to the local investigation, after breaking into the victim’s house, the thief organized the laundry and personally moved the flowerpots in the garden. He cleaned the floor with a mop and bucket and even took ingredients from the kitchen ceiling to cook. Before leaving the woman’s home, he left a note that read, “Don’t worry and live happily.”
It is reported that 13 days later, on July 29, the same thief committed a similar burglary at another man’s house. The male victim realized the break-in through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.
Afterward, the male victim asked his son-in-law to visit his home, and when the son-in-law entered, Boynilovitz was reportedly intoxicated and holding a glass.
Boynilovitz’s legal representative stated at the trial, “At the time of the crime, the defendant was homeless,” and “He admits to the crime and is remorseful.”
However, the victims reportedly experienced extreme anxiety due to Boynilovitz’s actions. In a personal statement, the female victim said, “I was in a state of extreme anxiety I had never experienced before,” and “I was so afraid to be alone at home that I stayed at a friend’s house after the incident.”
Judge Christian Jowitt, who presided over the trial, ruled that Boynilovitz’s theft was a serious intrusion into the victims’ property and found him guilty of two counts of breaking and entering.
