Hanwha Employees Volunteer Group of 1,200 Conducts Clean Campaign
Hanwha Corporation announced on the 6th that it successfully held the "Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2024 with Hanwha" on the 5th at the Han River Park area in Yeouido, Seoul.
Marking its 20th anniversary this year, the Seoul International Fireworks Festival featured representative fireworks teams from the United States, Japan, and Hanwha Corporation, attracting over one million spectators.
Following the directive of Kim Seung-yeon, Chairman of Hanwha Group, to "shoot bigger and wider fireworks so that even one more citizen can be comforted and hopeful through beautiful fireworks," Hanwha increased the proportion of high-altitude large-blooming aerial fireworks by about 18% compared to last year.
In particular, the Korean team simultaneously launched twin fireworks not only between Wonhyo Bridge and Hangang Railway Bridge, the main stage of the event, but also between Wonhyo Bridge and Mapo Bridge, allowing more spectators to enjoy the fireworks.
Given the large crowds gathering at the event, full efforts were made to maintain order and ensure safety. Hanwha organized a large-scale security and safety workforce of about 3,400 people, including employee volunteer groups, professional safety personnel, and operational staff. The Seoul Metropolitan Government also cooperated with four autonomous districts, the Seoul Fire & Disaster Headquarters, and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, deploying approximately 4,000 personnel.
Hanwha actively utilized the safety management smart app "Orange Safety," which is linked with telecommunications companies and equipped with real-time crowd density measurement functions, to support crowd dispersion. Additionally, citizens' movements were monitored and managed in real time through zone-specific CCTVs installed not only at the event site but also in the outskirts of Yeouido, Wonhyo Bridge, Mapo-dong, and Ichon-dong.
Furthermore, the Hanwha volunteer group, consisting of about 1,200 employees, conducted a "Clean Campaign" to pick up trash at Yeouido Hangang Park after the event ended.
