Trot singer Lim Young-woong (33) named soccer and running as his favorite exercises.

Lim Young-woong appeared as a guest on the tvN variety show 'Three Meals a Day: Light' aired on the 27th. On that day, in response to Yoo Hae-jin's question, "What do you usually do to spend your time?" he answered, "I gather with friends I work with to write songs. Other than that, I only exercise." Known as a fitness enthusiast, Lim said, "I exercise almost every day, but recently, when playing soccer with former players, I felt my stamina and muscle strength were lacking, so I have been receiving training." He added, "I exercise for at least two hours a day, and including running, it’s close to three hours. I mostly run outdoors, and it feels good to greet people while running in crowded places."

Soccer is a representative ball sport combining aerobic and anaerobic exercise, played intensively for 90 minutes including the first and second halves. It helps prevent cardiovascular diseases and improves overall basic physical fitness. Consistent soccer playing increases cardiopulmonary endurance and enhances the ability to perform daily activities.

Additionally, due to the nature of using muscles throughout the body, muscle strength is also strengthened. However, actions that strain the body such as heading and rough tackles during play inevitably carry a risk of injury. Therefore, it is important to accompany sufficient stretching before and after the game, and for beginners, to adjust playing time to avoid overexertion.

Meanwhile, running is a representative aerobic exercise that stimulates the entire body evenly and strengthens cardiopulmonary endurance. Compared to other exercises, it burns a large amount of calories, making it excellent for dieting. In particular, running is known to help mental health by improving depression through endorphin secretion. However, excessive running can put strain on ligaments and muscles, causing pain, so special caution is needed. People with weak joints should wear protective gear or tape when running. Above all, beginners should gradually increase their running time and find their own pace, which helps maintain a long-term running routine.
