Investors, Companies, and Authorities Discuss Capital Market Development Together
The Korea Exchange announced on the 6th that it will hold the "Korea Capital Market Conference 2024" at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, over two days on the 4th and 5th of next month.
This event is organized to bring together domestic and international institutional investors, securities firms, listed companies, and authorities in one place to discuss and communicate about the challenges and opportunities of the Korean capital market.
The conference consists of five sessions: the Value-Up Program, improvements to the Korean stock market system, the development direction of the Exchange-Traded Products (ETP) market, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosure, and the future of the derivatives market. It aims to cover key issues of the Korean capital market broadly and in depth.
On the first day, the Value-Up session will focus on "Rediscovering the Value of the Korean Stock Market: Strategies for the Successful Establishment of the Value-Up Program," discussing the utilization of new ETP products linked to the Korea Value-Up Index. Side events such as promotional booths for Value-Up companies, one-on-one meetings with institutional investors, and CFO roundtable discussions will also be held.
Following this, the Korean Stock Market session will address "Policy Improvements and Future Tasks to Enhance the Attractiveness of the Korean Stock Market," reviewing efforts made to improve the system to boost the attractiveness of the Korean stock market and discussing future improvement plans. A roundtable meeting will also be held to share global investment trends with international institutional investors and freely exchange opinions on strengthening the competitiveness of the Korean stock market.
The ETP session will discuss "The Development Direction of the ETP Market," focusing on achieving qualitative growth and advancing toward becoming a global asset management market. Promotional booths for ETP operators and index providers will be set up, and a meeting to discuss current issues with domestic ETP issuers is also planned.
On the second day, the ESG session will focus on "Activating ESG Disclosure by Listed Companies for Sustainable Growth," discussing the current status of ESG disclosure in the Korean capital market and future promotion plans, as well as sharing exemplary cases of ESG disclosure by listed companies.
Following this, the Derivatives session will cover "Latest Global Trends in the Derivatives Market and New Investment Opportunities," sharing the latest trend changes in domestic and international derivatives markets and discussing new investment opportunities in the Korean derivatives market.
A Korea Exchange official stated, "Since this conference is the first major event held after the implementation of the corporate Value-Up program, we hope it will serve as a momentum for the expansion of the Value-Up program," adding, "We hope it will be a place where domestic and international institutional investors, securities firms, related organizations, listed companies, and authorities actively communicate and participate."
