Pocheon City held the "2024 Pocheon City Resident Participatory Budget Committee" on the 2nd at the Pocheon City Youth Center seminar room to prepare the main budget for 2025. Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 4th that it held the "2024 Pocheon City Resident Participatory Budget Committee" on the 2nd at the Pocheon City Youth Center seminar room to prepare the 2025 main budget.
On that day, the committee reviewed 18 projects eligible for budget inclusion out of 117 proposed projects received through the resident proposal contest from April to July this year, based on departmental review results.
The committee members examined and discussed the feasibility and necessity of the projects, ultimately selecting a total of 14 projects: 12 approved projects including the Sanjeong Lake tourist site snow removal equipment and multipurpose warehouse construction project, 2 projects for supplementation, and 4 projects not approved. These projects will be included in the 2025 main budget after approval by the Pocheon City Council.
Deputy Mayor Kim Jong-hoon said, “The change and development of Pocheon are achieved through participation. I would like to express my gratitude to the members of the Resident Participatory Budget Committee and the citizens who have worked hard for the financial development of Pocheon City. Pocheon City will continue to work with citizens to develop the resident participatory budgeting system, which is the foundation of fiscal democracy.”
Meanwhile, in July, Pocheon City operated the Gyeonggi Province Budget School to strengthen the capabilities of the Resident Participatory Budget Committee members, and in September, conducted on-site inspections of five proposed projects together with the committee members.
