Hwasun Park Golf Course, boasting the largest scale in the country, will begin free trial operation starting from the 12th.
Hwasun County (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 4th that Hwasun Park Golf Course will be operated free of charge on a trial basis from the 12th through October.
Hwasun Park Golf Course consists of a total of 87 holes, including 81 holes of regular courses and 6 holes of practice courses. The county plans to obtain official certification for the course in the future.
Hwasun County will switch to paid operation starting in November after the one-month trial period in October. The entrance fee is 2,500 KRW for Hwasun residents and 8,000 KRW for non-residents. Currently, the 18-hole Neungju Park Golf Course charges 1,500 KRW for Hwasun residents and 6,000 KRW for non-residents.
However, 50% of the entrance fee paid by non-residents will be refunded in the form of 'Hwasun Love Gift Certificates.'
During the free trial operation, usage hours are divided into 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Each session allows 80 people (20 teams) by online reservation and 120 people (30 teams) by on-site registration. The course will be closed every Monday for initial turf establishment and maintenance.
Gu Bok-gyu, Governor of Hwasun County, said, “We hope that the free trial operation will maximize the promotional effect of Hwasun Park Golf Course,” adding, “We expect it to become a new tourist attraction in Hwasun County, revitalizing the local economy and serving as a healthy source of vitality for the elderly.”
