"Gyeongbuk Office of Education Signs MOU with Specialized Counseling Center to Support Students Affected by Deepfake"

Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) signed a business agreement on the 4th with the Gyeongbuk Regional Digital Sex Crime Specialized Counseling Center (Director Park Heerin) to support counseling for student victims.

This agreement aims to provide professional counseling services to student victims of digital sex crimes such as deepfake incidents, and to strengthen rapid joint response through enhanced education and counseling support for victim recovery.

The main contents of the agreement include establishing a cooperation network for supporting the deletion of deepfake videos, providing counseling support for student victims, and conducting digital sex crime prevention education and activities. Through this agreement, the two organizations will exchange information and prepare practical support measures necessary for counseling and protection of student victims, as well as cooperate to build a safer educational environment.

In July, Gyeongbuk Office of Education, in cooperation with Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, issued the "School Siren No. 1 Alert" to prevent digital sex crimes. Since then, it has continued various prevention activities, including operating a special education week for deepfake sex crime prevention, running the visiting school violence prevention Doodream Team, and establishing cooperative systems with related organizations.

Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, stated, "We signed this agreement to establish a system that can provide practical help to students suffering from digital sex crimes," and added, "We will continue to do our best so that student victims can grow up in a safe and healthy environment through cooperation with the local community."
