Goryeong County Holds Appointment Ceremony for Dalbit Railway Goryeong Station Invitation Committee

"Goryeong Station Is the Key to Opening Harmony and Unity"

Goryeong County, North Gyeongsang Province, held an appointment ceremony for the Committee for Attracting Dalbit Railway Goryeong Station at the Daegaya Hall of the county office on the 2nd, with members of the county council and leaders of various social organizations in attendance.

Goryeong County is holding the appointment ceremony for the Dalbit Railroad Goryeong Station Promotion Committee.

Lee Sangyong, chairman of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Livestock Cooperative Association, who was appointed as the chairman of the committee, emphasized, "Through the large-scale national project of constructing the Dalbit Railway, Goryeong County will play a significant role in promoting the exchange of people and goods between Yeongnam and Honam and in establishing the southern economic zone."

He also pledged, "The committee will spare no effort in supporting the establishment of Goryeong Station in a location that will benefit future generations."

The Committee for Attracting Dalbit Railway Goryeong Station, which was launched on this day, plans to promote the justification for establishing Goryeong Station internally and, externally, to cooperate with the administration to respond to official procedures for its attraction.

Through the establishment of Dalbit Railway Goryeong Station, Goryeong County aims to create a connecting hub for the four major industrial logistics SOCs and to promote the construction of industrial logistics and metropolitan transportation infrastructure in the Yeongho-Nam inland area by advancing as a hinterland city of the Gyeongbuk-Daegu megacity.

Furthermore, Goryeong Station is expected to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy by restructuring the urban spatial structure, transforming the public transportation system, expanding the metropolitan living area, attracting more residents, and creating jobs.

County Governor Lee Namcheol stated, "As outlined in the basic direction of the special law for the construction of the Dalbit Railway, I hope the committee will join forces for balanced national development as well as regional harmony and mutual growth," adding, "I expect that this committee will serve as an opportunity for all county residents to move beyond confrontation and conflict and open a new chapter of unity and integration."
