Jungnang-gu to Host 2024 Yongma Waterfall Culture and Arts Festival

October 5 Event at Yongma Waterfall Culture Park
A Festival of Culture, Art, and Music Established as Jungnang-gu's Representative Autumn Festival

On the 5th, the '2024 Yongma Waterfall Culture and Arts Festival' will be held at Yongma Waterfall Park in Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi).


Hosted and organized by the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, the 'Yongma Waterfall Culture and Arts Festival' has been held every October since 2016, growing into Jungnang-gu's representative autumn event attracting over 30,000 visitors annually.


This festival, made possible by the participation of district residents, consists of ▲Culture Yard ▲Health Yard ▲Arts Yard ▲Sharing Yard, with various events and programs conducted in each field.


First, the Culture Yard, held on the main stage in front of the artificial waterfall, opens with a performance by the Jungnang District Youth Orchestra. Following the Gang So-cheon Children's Song Festival, which all Seoul citizens can participate in, there will be a talent contest involving about 1,500 Jungnang residents, performances by district groups, and a senior fashion show. A performance by the invited singer Kim Kyung-ho Band is also scheduled to further brighten the festival.

At the soccer field in Yongma Waterfall Park, the Health Yard will be held under the theme 'Healthy Jungnang, Happy Us.' Starting with warm-up exercises, the 'Jungnang Health Dance' and 'Jungnang Health Sports Day' will take place, and 29 various participating organizations, including the Jungnang Medical Association, will operate health consultations, check-ups, and health experience zones for residents.


In particular, a 'Jungnang History Quiz Contest' for local elementary school students will be held, providing an opportunity to revisit the district's history.


At the Sharing Yard, promotional sales booths for small and medium-sized enterprises will be operated, allowing visitors to encounter products from local companies, and various food options will be available through food trucks.


Additionally, at the Arts Yard, major works such as paintings, photographs, and Digasi (a compound word of digital photo and poetry) by Jungnang-gu art groups will be exhibited to add artistic sensibility.


Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “The Yongma Waterfall Culture and Arts Festival is especially meaningful as it is directly participated in and prepared by the residents. I hope many people enjoy this rich festival of culture, arts, and music to welcome the autumn season.”
