Handonghun Representative Reaffirms Strong Response to 'False Attack Orchestration'... "Line Crossed"

"Necessary Measures Must Be Taken"

Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, reaffirmed a strong stance on June 3 regarding allegations that Kim Dae-nam, former senior administrator of the presidential office, requested a specific media outlet to attack him during the July 23 party convention when he was a candidate.

After attending the National Foundation Day celebration on the same day, Han told reporters, "For example, if a party member simply provides information to a legitimate media outlet or asks them to write an article, that is possible," adding, "But commissioning false attacks to left-wing YouTube channels or extremely radical opponents crosses a clear line."

He emphasized, "This is not some kind of conspiracy; the actual execution of the act was recorded as is," and said, "If the party knowingly tolerates this, it cannot be called a public party, so necessary measures are being taken."

According to a recording released earlier by the YouTube channel 'Seoul's Voice,' former senior administrator Kim claimed in a call with Seoul's Voice ahead of the July 23 People Power Party convention, "First Lady Kim Keon-hee is trying to die because of candidate Han Dong-hoon. If we plan well and strike (candidate Han), the First Lady will be pleased."

Han immediately responded to this by saying, "I feel ashamed and pathetic thinking about how the public and party members will view this." The party is also pursuing an ethics committee investigation and legal actions.
