A nude statue of former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the U.S. presidential election, has been erected in Las Vegas.

On the 1st (local time), the New York Post and others reported that a sculpture depicting former President Trump nude was installed next to Highway 15 in Las Vegas. According to the report, the statue is approximately 43 feet (about 13.1 meters) tall and was erected hanging from a crane about 44 km away from the Trump International Hotel. Since its installation around the 28th of last month, passersby have stopped to admire the statue and take photos with it.

In response, the Nevada Republican Party issued a statement saying, "It can only be seen as an aggressive sculpture installed with the intent to shock rather than foster meaningful dialogue," and expressed outrage, calling it "a deplorable act." Ian Miles Cheong, a far-right influencer, also criticized the statue on his X (formerly Twitter), claiming, "If former President Trump is elected, everyone involved in making this statue should be sent to jail." On the other hand, some citizens who witnessed the statue reacted positively, saying, "It's just a fun performance for the upcoming election," "The large and gigantic statue of former President Trump brought laughter to the world," and "It feels like a very creative piece of art."

The identity of the person who made the statue is unknown. However, the anonymous creator told the American pop culture magazine The Wrap that it "boldly expresses the transparency, vulnerability, and public persona of a politician." The statue reportedly disappeared along with the crane two days after installation. Regarding this, the creator stated, "This is not a permanent removal; it was temporarily taken down to conduct a 'tour' around the United States."

Meanwhile, nude statues depicting former President Trump have appeared before. During the 2016 presidential election, a comical nude statue featuring Trump's blonde hair and protruding belly was installed in Manhattan's Union Square. This statue was created by the American sculptor group Indictline, which opposes Trump, and was erected in five major cities including San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Ohio. The city authorities responded by saying, "We cannot allow illegal installations," and removed the statue within a day.
