Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 2nd that it conducted a survey on the 28th of last month at a high school entrance briefing session to gather residents' opinions regarding the establishment of a science high school.

The high school entrance briefing session was an event hosted by the Goyang Office of Education, aimed at middle school students and their parents within Goyang City to provide information about high school admissions.

The city provided attendees with information about the public recruitment plan for attracting a science high school to Goyang and conducted a survey on citizens' awareness of the science high school, their desire for its establishment, and their educational expectations.

A city official stated, "This survey is an important process to build a science high school model suitable for Goyang by reflecting residents' voices," adding, "Based on the collected opinions, we plan to prepare specific plans for establishing a science high school to nurture scientific talents in the region."

The city plans to continuously gather residents' opinions and explore various measures to promote the establishment of the science high school.
