He also stated, "I am confident that the two countries will fully implement the agreements made during talks with President Xi and further consolidate the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between Russia and China for a new era, thereby enhancing security and stability on the Eurasian continent and beyond."

The two leaders have met four times within a year, demonstrating the close China-Russia relationship.

President Xi and President Putin held talks at the China Belt and Road Forum (connecting China, Central Asia, and Europe via land and maritime Silk Roads) in October last year, during Putin’s state visit to Beijing in May this year, and at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Kazakhstan in July. They will meet again in three months at the BRICS summit of emerging economies held in Kazan, Russia, from the 22nd to the 24th.
