Hancom announced on the 2nd that its subsidiary Thinkfree has signed an investment agreement with Japanese venture capital firm Accord Ventures and domestic private equity firm ATU Partners, securing Pre-Series A investment worth 2.3 billion KRW.
This investment was made with expectations for the expansion of Thinkfree's core product, the cloud office solution, and the launch of AI-based services. In July, Thinkfree released the beta version of 'Refinder AI,' an AI search and Q&A solution targeting the global enterprise market, and plans to officially launch the service in October.
Refinder AI is an AI assistant that enables integrated search of vast data scattered across numerous business platforms used by enterprises, regardless of source or relationship. It connects all productivity and collaboration platforms such as Gmail, Google Drive, Confluence, Jira, Slack, and Notion, allowing users to find various data stored there?including web content, office documents, PDFs, emails, and messages?all at once and provides summarized content. It operates based on data authorized by the respective company, delivering verified information quickly and accurately.
Additionally, Thinkfree is promoting the expansion of its cloud office solution, 'Thinkfree Office,' primarily in Europe, as well as in the United States and Japan.
Kim Doo-young, CEO of Thinkfree, stated, "By the end of this year, we will conduct investor relations targeting overseas investors, including those introduced by Japan's Accord Ventures, and secure additional Series A investment to establish ourselves as a prominent company in the rapidly growing overseas cloud and AI markets."
