Samjong KPMG Launches Educational Content on Accounting Issues for Audit Committees

Samjong KPMG announced on the 2nd that it has newly launched video educational content under the theme of "Accounting Issues for Audit Committees."

This content was designed to help audit committees easily understand and grasp key accounting issues and related precautions encountered while performing accounting oversight duties. The series consists of five episodes: ▲ Project financing evaluation and post-management ▲ Revenue recognition of ‘services provided by third parties’ ▲ The impact of agreements with financial investors on financial statements ▲ Considerations when determining the scope of consolidation and accounting and internal control issues related to subsidiaries ▲ Issues related to goodwill impairment.

The content will be sequentially released until December through Samjong KPMG’s official YouTube channel and the audit committee education online platform, ‘Samjong Academy.’ Information on new video registrations and related updates can be checked through the Samjong KPMG ACI KakaoTalk channel. When taking the content on Samjong Academy, a certificate of completion will also be issued as proof of audit committee education performance.

The content was produced through collaboration among experts from Samjong KPMG’s Audit Headquarters, Quality Control Office, and Audit Committee Support Center (ACI). Kim Min-gyu, leader of Samjong KPMG ACI, said, “Understanding the accounting issues faced by audit committees is very important for sound corporate management,” adding, “We will continue to strive to enhance the roles of audit committees and audits to strengthen accounting transparency and establish proper corporate governance.”
