Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 2nd that it will support the smooth and safe operation of the ‘Yonggeummak Festival’ held at Yongsan Yongmun Market from the 3rd to the 5th. Hosted by the Market Merchants Association, this festival will take place from 5 PM to 10 PM during this period under the concept of ‘Exciting! Hot Again’.
‘Yonggeummak’ is an abbreviation of ‘Yongsan Yongmun Market Golden Beer Festival.’ Visitors who purchase side dishes or food worth more than 10,000 KRW at stores within the market can receive a free beer exchange voucher to enjoy beer at outdoor tables.
The festival will open with an opening ceremony at 4:30 PM on the 3rd, featuring various attractions such as b-boy performances, Latin music shows, and street karaoke. Visitors can participate in roulette and prize events through stamps given when purchasing food.
For this festival, the Merchants Association conducted menu development consulting and reviewed points for improvement through a tasting event. They stated that efforts were made to enhance the festival’s substance by reflecting recent food trends and setting appropriate prices.
Yongsan-gu received a safety management plan from the Merchants Association, the event organizer, and the Safety Policy Working Coordination Committee reviewed ▲ safety management organization and duties ▲ emergency measures ▲ safety preparation items ▲ safety accident countermeasures by type.
The committee included related organizations such as Yongsan-gu, Yongsan Police Station, Yongsan Fire Station, Korea Electrical and Gas Safety Corporation, the agency, and the Merchants Association, discussing practical matters regarding accident prevention measures and plans for securing and deploying safety management personnel.
This safety management plan utilized big data analysis results of floating population. Safety personnel will be deployed in areas and time zones where the floating population is concentrated to prevent safety accidents.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “Various projects promoted by the district to revitalize traditional market commercial areas are showing results,” and added, “We expect this festival to be an opportunity to foster mutual bonds and strengthen the self-sustainability of the local commercial district.”
