Former 90s Group Taesaja Member Kim Hyung-jun Shares Update
Worked as a Coupang Man for Over 3 Years... "Earned Quite a Bit"
"My Thoughts on Foreign Cars and Luxury Apartments Have Changed"
Kim Hyung-jun, a singer formerly of the boy group Taesaja active in the late 1990s, revealed that when he left the entertainment industry and became a Coupang deliveryman, he earned up to 10 million KRW per month.
On the 1st, Kim Hyung-jun appeared on the YouTube channel 'Geunhwang Olympics' and shared the reasons he started working at Coupang and his monthly income. In the video, Kim said that for the past three years, he worked almost every day delivering early morning shipments at Coupang, carrying an average of 200 to 300 items per day, and earned over 10 million KRW in a single month. He added, "There was definitely no stress, and I was happier than when I was an entertainer."

Kim Hyung-jun explained, "Nowadays, items wrapped in plastic packaging pay 650 KRW, and those in boxes pay 800 to 850 KRW, but in the early days, both plastic and box packaging paid 2,500 KRW. When I was working hard, early morning deliveries paid 1,500 KRW, and daytime deliveries paid 1,000 to 1,200 KRW." He continued, "If you work hard delivering 200 to 300 items every day throughout the month, after deducting fuel costs, you can roughly calculate how much I earned. I made quite a lot." Assuming an average delivery fee of 1,500 KRW per item and 250 deliveries per day for 25 days a month, his monthly income would reach 9.37 million KRW.
He said that after his activities with Taesaja ended, he went through a period of wandering, but his life changed after visiting the United States. "At that time, I met a foreign couple at Santa Monica Beach in Los Angeles. They were a retired couple who had traveled all the way up from South America in a camper van, and they invited me to travel with them," he said. "Without realizing it, I followed them. We drove to San Francisco over two days, and those two days changed me. Seeing the life of the elderly couple made me understand happiness." He added, "Until then, I thought life was about driving a Benz, living in a 40-pyeong apartment in Gangnam, and wearing nice clothes, but that changed a lot. I came to think that if you just live diligently, things will somehow follow, rather than just making a lot of money."
He recently quit being a Coupang deliveryman and reportedly started a business. Regarding his current status, he said, "It's completely unrelated to the entertainment industry," and added with a smile, "I have three employees, and we start work around 11 a.m. and finish around 7 to 8 p.m. Since the economy is not good, I'm considering whether to do Coupang Eats (food delivery). Business is not something just anyone can do."
