Kim Jong-un Sends National Day Congratulatory Message to Xi Jinping... "Let's Stay Firmly United"

Emphasizing North Korea-China Friendship on China's National Day

Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, sent a congratulatory message to Xi Jinping, President of China, on the occasion of the 75th National Day (Founding Anniversary) of China. The message included the content, "We believe that the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries, Korea and China, will be further strengthened and developed in accordance with the demands of the new era and the aspirations and wishes of the peoples of the two countries."

This content was disclosed through a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 1st. In the congratulatory message, Chairman Kim wrote, "Over the past 75 years since the founding of New China, the Chinese people have actively promoted the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics by overcoming all kinds of trials and challenges," and "The comprehensive national strength and international prestige of the People's Republic of China are steadily increasing." He added, "We are confident that the Chinese people will firmly unite around the Communist Party of China, with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core, and will surely achieve the second centenary goal."

The Foreign Language Publishing House of North Korea released a photo album titled "Opening a New Era of Developing Foreign Relations" in 2021, featuring scenes of Chairman Kim Jong Un's diplomatic activities. The album introduced Chairman Kim's first foreign visit since his inauguration in March 2018, choosing China and meeting with President Xi Jinping. Chairman Kim stated, "Continuously consolidating and developing the traditional Korea-China friendship is the consistent position of our Party and the government of the Republic." He has sent congratulatory messages to President Xi on China’s National Day every year on October 1st. This year’s message is similar to last year’s content.

Earlier, President Xi sent a congratulatory message to Chairman Kim on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the North Korean regime (September 9th). In his reply on the 15th, Chairman Kim said, "I believe that the two parties and two countries will continue to achieve excellent results in the joint cause of vigorously promoting socialist construction, providing substantial benefits to the people, and safeguarding world peace and regional security."
