Pocheon City successfully concluded the "2024 Hantan River Geo Music & Picnic Festival" held at Bidulginang Waterfall on the 28th of last month. Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 1st that the ‘2024 Hantan River Geo Music & Picnic Festival,’ held on the 28th of last month at Bidulginang Waterfall, a representative tourist attraction of Pocheon, was successfully concluded.
With over 12,000 visitors, this festival was planned to widely promote the beauty and value of the Hantan River Geopark to citizens and tourists, and to provide opportunities to enjoy culture and the arts.
The festival’s opening stage was decorated by local Pocheon artists from the Pocheon Arts University vocal class, including ‘Park Sera and Jo Nam-yeol,’ the musical gala team ‘La Voce,’ and singer-songwriter ‘Kim Sung-jun.’ Following this, the trot stage featured performances by popular domestic trot singers ‘Park Seo-jin,’ ‘Seol Ha-yoon,’ and ‘Ahn Sung-hoon.’
The ‘Geo Dance Challenge,’ where the audience participated to create the performance together, also attracted great interest. In the subsequent electronic dance music (EDM) stage, exciting performances by ‘YOUKEEP,’ ‘SOYEE and VAHA,’ and ‘YENA’ continued, and comedian Yoon Sung-ho’s alter ego ‘New Jeans-nim’ highlighted the stage, adding to the excitement of the event.
The media art and dance performance ‘GEO PRIME SHOWCASE,’ themed on the magnificent geological landscape of the Hantan River, offered a wonderful show harmonizing the mysteries of nature and art, moving the audience. The ‘K-POP’ stage featured famous musicians ‘Jiolpak,’ Mamamoo’s ‘Wheein,’ and rapper ‘BewhY.’ The festival finale was marked by the ‘Geo Fireworks Show.’
Throughout the venue, various experiential events enriched the festival, including the Hantan River Geo School and Geo Touring to learn about geology and ecology against the backdrop of the Hantan River Geopark’s nature, face painting experiences, and drone soccer activities.
Additionally, various attractions and entertainment were provided, such as the ‘Geo Ne Cut Photo Booth’ where visitors could capture special moments in photos, and the ‘For You Market,’ a flea market group from Pocheon.
