"Know That Israel Stands with the People of Iran"
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people, saying, "Israel stands with you" and "You will be free sooner than people think." His remarks, made public the day before Israel announced on the 1st (local time) that its military had launched a limited ground operation in the southern Lebanon border area, have drawn attention.
According to the Times of Israel on the 30th of last month (local time), Netanyahu stated in an English video statement with Iranian-Persian subtitles that Israel is fighting aggressively in response to attacks by Iranian proxy forces. It is unusual for Netanyahu to send a public message directly to the Iranian people. The video statement was released amid rapidly escalating tensions in the Middle East following the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, on the 27th of last month, Iran's vow of retaliation, and Israel's preparation for a ground war targeting Hezbollah.

Netanyahu claimed, "Every day, you see the regime that oppresses you making fierce speeches about defending Lebanon and Gaza (where the Palestinian militant group Hamas operates)," but "that regime is pushing our region deeper into darkness and war every day." He emphasized, "There is no place in the Middle East that Israel cannot reach," and "We will go wherever necessary to protect our people." He added, "The majority of the Iranian people know that the Iranian regime does not care about them," and "If it did, it would stop wasting tens of billions of dollars (trillions of won) on futile wars."
Furthermore, he said, "Imagine if the vast amounts of money the Iranian regime wastes on nuclear weapons and overseas wars were invested in your children's education, improving healthcare services, building national infrastructure, water, sewage systems, and everything else you need." He also stated, "When Iran finally becomes free, at a moment much sooner than people think, everything will change," and "The two ancient peoples, the Jewish people and the Persian people, will finally enjoy peace." He claimed, "When that day comes, the terrorist networks the Iranian regime has established across five continents will collapse."
Netanyahu warned, "Do not let a small number of fanatical theocrats trample on your hopes and dreams," and "We know you do not support the rapists and murderers of Hamas and Hezbollah, but you support your leaders." He concluded by saying, "The Iranian people must know that Israel stands with you."
