Songjeong Matgil Presents a Healing Food Festival for Citizens with Diverse Content
Delicious Gatherings at Gumi Gourmet Zone, Samgyeop Grilling Zone, and Pork Festival
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will hold the 3rd Gumi Food Festival from the 5th to the 6th at Songjeong Matgil (Songjeong Covered Stream in front of Gumi City Hall).
This year's festival, themed "Taste, Meeting Joy Beyond Flavor," will be filled with a variety of encounters, including ▲the meeting of people and food (Food Zone), ▲the meeting of food and culture (performances), and ▲the meeting of Korean and Japanese culinary masters.
The most eye-catching program is the "Samgyeop Grilling Zone," where visitors can grill pork belly and enjoy the romance of camping in the city, complemented by performances that enhance the autumn atmosphere. At the "Gumi Gourmet Zone," which has been consulted by popular chef Jung Hoyoung, visitors can experience a new world of gastronomy, further elevating the festival's brand value.
At the "Folk Festival," renowned Korean folk musicians such as Yurisangja, Dongmulwon, Yeohaengsketch, and Marronnier will add to the autumn mood. For children, "Kids Land" offers a variety of activities including air bounce, science experiences, and cooking classes, making it enjoyable for the whole family. At night, the "Shh! (Silent) EDM Party & Masquerade Ball" will heighten the excitement of the festival.
In the Food Zone, over 60 vendors will participate in the "Yum Yum Showcase," allowing visitors to see a wide variety of Gumi's cuisine at a glance. There will also be plenty of entertainment, including a flea market, craft beer tasting, magic shows, and costume events, ensuring a festival that everyone can enjoy.
Special cultural events are also planned during the festival. On the 5th, the "Gumi Harmony Madang Play Grand Feast" will be held on the main stage, while the "Gumi Reading Culture Festival" will take place at the City Central Library, offering a unique experience that combines food and culture. On the 6th, the "Gumi National Song Festival" will bring the festival to a spectacular close.
Mayor Kim Jangho said, "Last year, 150,000 people visited the Gumi Food Festival, and this year it is even more richly prepared. I hope that not only Gumi citizens but also visitors from all over the country will come and enjoy the taste and charm of Gumi."
