Providing opportunities for physical activity participation through golf

The Korea Golf Association (KGA) is conducting the '2024 Golf Class with R&A.'

Golf Class with KGA and R&A

It will be held at the Korea Golf Science and Technology University until October 27. The purpose is to provide opportunities for participation in physical activities through golf. Two classes of 15 people each per day will be operated. The lecture time is 2 hours. The target audience is elementary and middle school students from Wonju City and Hoengseong County in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. The main contents include theoretical education (etiquette, golf rules), lessons (driver, iron, putter), etc. Putting contests, long drive contests, and mini-tournaments with parents will follow. Norang Tongdak, Titleist, Ping, and Korea Golf Science and Technology University are sponsors.

This project was first implemented in 2022. Last year, a total of 60 sessions were held targeting 950 people in Gyeonggi Province (Yeoju), Gyeongsangnam-do, and Gangwon-do regions. KGA Chairman Kang Hyung-mo stated, "Through the golf class, we are providing various opportunities to young people in regions where access to golf is difficult. We hope many participants will enjoy experiencing golf again this year. We will strive to improve awareness of golf and promote golf as a sport for everyday life."
