Realizing Regional Coexistence Values... Wolseong Headquarters Supports 'Munmu Daewang Cultural Festival for Unification'

Wishing for Regional Cultural Development and Economic Revitalization

Wolsong Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) supported the 8th Munmu the Great Cultural Festival for Korean Unification, held from the 28th to the 29th at the area surrounding the Tomb of King Munmu in Bonggil-ri, Munmu the Great-myeon, Gyeongju.

From the 28th to the 29th, Wolsong Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power supported the 8th Munmu the Great Cultural Festival for Unification.

This event was organized to create a venue for cultural and artistic exchange, with all residents of three towns in East Gyeongju (Gampo-eup, Munmu the Great-myeon, Yangnam-myeon) participating together to honor and revive the spirit of loyalty and filial piety embodied by Silla’s King Munmu.

The event featured a variety of programs such as a singing contest for local residents, martial arts performances, and traditional games experiences, which were met with enthusiastic responses from community members, tourists, and other attendees throughout the festival.

During the festival, Wolsong Headquarters operated a promotional booth to raise awareness of KHNP’s support projects, SMR (Small Modular Reactor), and the Special Act on Distributed Energy, as well as to introduce Wolsong Headquarters’ regional support initiatives, thereby promoting local acceptance.

Heo Daeyoung, Head of External Cooperation, stated, “Through the Munmu the Great Cultural Festival, we hope to reflect on the spirit of loyalty and filial piety of Silla’s King Munmu and carry on the value of traditional culture, establishing this festival as a leading cultural event representing Korea. Wolsong Headquarters will continue to communicate, grow, and practice the value of mutual prosperity together with the local community.”

This event was selected as part of Wolsong Headquarters’ ‘KHNP Support Project’ and, going forward, various projects will be identified and supported to contribute to the development of local culture and revitalization of the local economy as a member of the regional community.
