Direct Hiring of 7 Members This Year
Performances at Social Welfare Facilities and Local Festivals
S-OIL announced on the 30th that its in-house orchestra composed of developmentally disabled musicians will hold a 'Visiting Concert' in October.
Since 2009, S-OIL has been supporting the Heart Heart Foundation, which is made up of developmentally disabled individuals, to improve awareness of disabilities. This year, the company directly hired seven developmentally disabled musicians as new employees. The performers, consisting of four violinists, one violist, one cellist, and one double bassist, have been holding concerts with various pieces every week at the S-OIL headquarters building.
The developmentally disabled musicians affiliated with S-OIL plan to visit local residents next month to carry out cultural and artistic sharing activities. Through the Mapo Welfare Foundation, applications were accepted from social welfare facilities in need of performances, and the selected locations are Seoul Yongsan-gu Seurolline and Seoul Mapo-gu Taehwa Saemsotneun Jip, where the musicians will hold concerts in person. On the 26th of next month, they will participate in the 1st Ahyeon Haenghwa Harmony Festival performance held at Ahyeon Elementary School to present their music to local residents.
A company official said, "It is especially meaningful that we can contribute to the local community through the musical activities of the developmentally disabled musicians directly hired by the company."
