Pocheon City conducted a "Child Abuse Prevention Campaign" at the "Pocheon Global Festival for World Citizens" event held at Pocheon Sports Complex on the 29th. Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 30th that it conducted a 'Child Abuse Prevention Campaign' at the 'Pocheon Global Festival for World Citizens' held at Pocheon Sports Complex on the 29th.
The campaign was organized to raise awareness among citizens, multicultural families, and foreigners about proper parenting methods and to build consensus for the prevention and eradication of child abuse, as the seriousness of child abuse has recently emerged as a social issue.
During the campaign, a promotional booth was set up at the event venue where the Pocheon City Child Protection Team, Gyeonggi Pocheon Child Protection Agency, and Pocheon Police Station jointly distributed and provided information materials detailing the 129 Principles of Positive Parenting, the definition of child abuse, and how to report child abuse.
Additionally, the campaign received great response through an experience activity where children wrote love messages they wanted to convey to their parents, completing a message tree.
A Pocheon City official stated, “Child abuse is an issue that requires the attention of all citizens, and we will do our best to ensure that no blind spots for child abuse occur through continuous promotional campaigns.”
