Hanmaeum Festival Held, Over 900 Village Leaders from 29 Towns and Districts Attend
POEX Performance Draws Attention, Wishing for Success of MICE Industry
Pohang City successfully held the '2024 Pohang City Village Leaders Unity Festival' on the lawn field next to Manindang at the Pohang City Sports Complex on the 28th, hosted by the Pohang City Village Leaders Association.
The event was attended by about 900 village leaders from 29 towns, townships, and neighborhoods, who serve as a bridge between the administration and citizens at the forefront. It provided a meaningful opportunity for communication, unity, and creating momentum for regional development.
The event began with a pre-ceremony performance, followed by the official opening ceremony as the first part. The second part featured a variety of activities, including a friendly sports day, singing contest, and celebratory performances, further heating up the atmosphere.
In his opening remarks, Lee Chaegyu, President of the Village Leaders Association, said, "I am deeply pleased that the Unity Festival, which strengthens the harmony and solidarity of village leaders, has been held in such a grand manner. Let us continue to communicate as partners with Pohang and work together with one heart to lead a hopeful local community."
During the event, participants entered while presenting three-line acrostic poems for each town and township, drawing attention. They also showcased a POEX performance wishing for the success of Pohang City's MICE industry, demonstrating their collective capabilities.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "I would like to thank all the village leaders who have worked for regional development and the happiness of our residents. I hope you will continue to be a strong support in solving many local issues together, and let us unite our citizens' capabilities for a better future for Pohang."
