Hwaseong Talent Development Foundation announced on the 30th that it held a completion ceremony for 'Hwaseong into Technopole' at the Hwaseong Lifelong Learning Center on the 28th. This project is a Hwaseong-type Glocal talent development program initiated last year by the Hwaseong Talent Development Foundation following the city's designation as an Education Internationalization Special Zone. In this year's Hwaseong into Technopole, local high school and university students were divided into three groups and had the opportunity to broaden their horizons by visiting global semiconductor equipment companies such as ASM headquarters in the Netherlands through explorations in Singapore and Europe.
The completion ceremony, attended by 100 participating students and parents, Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, Kim Jong-bok, Chair of the Hwaseong City Council's Culture and Welfare Committee, Lim Seon-il, CEO of Hwaseong Talent Development Foundation, and Lee Young-seok, CEO of ASM Korea, also featured presentations of policy proposals by the participants and a talk concert with Mayor Jeong.

In particular, during the policy proposal presentations, six outstanding cases of proposed policies that could be applied to city administration based on the knowledge and insights gained from overseas explorations were presented by the students. The students proposed various administrative policies including ▲activation of idle land to reduce regional disparities between the eastern and western parts ▲construction of tree fences along roads connecting major spaces ▲establishment of park streets to build a resource circulation system and expand green infrastructure ▲creation of multicultural streets ▲establishment of botanic gardens and green connections through corporate cooperation ▲installation of Hwaseong City's unique drinking fountains in places with high foot traffic, covering areas such as environment, balanced development, and job policies.
Mayor Jeong encouraged, "Many of the students' proposals were policies beyond the level of experts," and added, "I hope the policy proposals from the 'Hwaseong into Technopole' project will serve as a catalyst for transforming Hwaseong City."
