Introducing Three Special Programs Including ‘Hey! Let Me Walk Only on the DMZ Flower Road’
Gyeonggi Paju City and the Paju Urban Tourism Corporation announced on the 30th that they will launch a special program starting in October, linking the existing 'DMZ Peace Trail' exploration course with Paju's major regional tourism resources to coincide with the peak autumn tourism season.
This special program is organized into three themes: 'Hey! Let Me Walk Only on the DMZ Flower Road,' 'Peaceful Imjin River Sound,' and 'Walking the Paju DMZ Peace Trail.'
First, 'Hey! Let Me Walk Only on the DMZ Flower Road' is a course that visits popular spots in Paju, including Yulgok Wetland Park, where visitors can enjoy autumn flowers such as Korean chrysanthemum and cosmos, and 'Museum Hey,' the largest media art exclusive hall in the metropolitan area, which opened this summer in the Unification Hill Tourism Special Zone.
'Peaceful Imjin River Sound' offers participants the opportunity to make music boxes at the Peace Rest Area located at the entrance of the Imjingang Ribigyo Bridge, followed by a relaxing and healing walk through the barrier-free sunset forest in Heyri.
'Walking the Paju DMZ Peace Trail' commemorates the opening of the DMZ Peace Trail cross-route on September 23. Participants can walk all six courses of the Paju section of the 'DMZ Peace Trail,' enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Korean Peninsula while reflecting on the meaning of peace and unification.
Applications can be made online from October to mid-November through the reservation website, and detailed information can be obtained by contacting the DMZ Peace Trail linked program customer center.
Kim Yoon-jung, Director of Tourism, said, “The DMZ Peace Trail is a core tourism resource that promotes coexistence and health values through walking travel,” adding, “We hope that people tired of daily life will walk the DMZ Peace Trail, rest in nature, and gain an opportunity to recharge.”
