Intensive Inspection of Hiking Trails and Signboards
Hamyang County in Gyeongnam announced on the 30th that a pilot hike was conducted on Hwangseoksan to pre-inspect the "Oreugo(GO) Hamyang" app, a mountain climbing completion certification project. The event was attended by over 20 people, including County Governor Jin Byeongyeong and public officials from relevant departments.
During this hike, they focused on checking the app's functionality, including mobile app start and end point certification, summit certification, as well as the maintenance status of hiking trails and signboards.
In addition, from September 24 to October 2, each department will conduct pilot hikes on mountains over 1,000 meters within the county to check the app operation, hiking convenience facilities, and other inconveniences, in order to identify issues and areas for improvement before the official launch of the app next year.
While inspecting Hwangseoksan using the app, Governor Jin requested, "Please thoroughly check the app development and maintenance of hiking trails so that the mountain climbing completion certification project 'Oreugo(GO) Hamyang,' which utilizes our county's famous mountains, can help attract external tourists and revitalize the local economy, ensuring there are no setbacks for next year's implementation."
The Hamyang County mountain climbing completion certification project "Oreugo(GO) Hamyang" is scheduled to begin in January next year. The project allows participants to climb 15 famous mountains over 1,000 meters within the county and receive certification through the mobile app. Depending on the number of completed climbs, participants will receive gift certificates or souvenirs: a Hamyang Love Gift Certificate for completing 6 mountains, and a commemorative item (medal) for completing all 15 mountains.
