KPC Korea Productivity Center and Doosan announced on the 30th that they have been selected as the operating institutions for the ‘2024 Large and Small Business Win-Win Academy’ project by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and will work on enhancing the capabilities of Doosan’s partner company employees.
Hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, the ‘Large and Small Business Win-Win Academy’ is a government-supported project in which excellent training programs conducted by large companies for their own employees are opened and shared with mid-sized and small enterprises with fewer than 1,000 employees. This system is newly implemented this year to bridge the vocational training gap between large and small businesses.
KPC and Doosan were designated as operating institutions for the ‘Large and Small Business Win-Win Academy’ after receiving high scores in evaluation categories such as education programs related to improving job competencies of small and medium enterprise workers and the adequacy of facilities and equipment establishment.
KPC and Doosan will operate the ‘Large and Small Business Win-Win Academy’ program starting this October. They established an education system that modularizes long-term training of over 40 hours into several short courses to reduce the burden on the field while enabling systematic capability development. Various courses in areas such as ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), cost management, quality control, and artificial intelligence (AI) are offered, allowing modular enrollment.
Kim Dongsan, Director of the KPC Management Education Center, said, “We hope this will be a positive opportunity to alleviate the gap in vocational skill development between large and small businesses,” and added, “We will continue to develop more diverse and high-quality training programs to contribute to improving the job competencies of mid-sized and small enterprise workers.”
