Japanese netizens' malicious comments met with support from domestic netizens
Increase in celebrities receiving hate comments for mentioning Dokdo recently
Actress Lee Si-young (42) revealed that she visited Dokdo and was subsequently bombarded with malicious comments from netizens presumed to be Japanese. As of the 29th, many Japanese-language comments criticizing Lee Si-young have been posted on her social media accounts. Earlier, on the 26th, Lee Si-young posted on her social networking service (SNS), "A short but intense visit to Dokdo," adding, "The waves were calm that day, so we successfully docked at Dokdo." She also shared photos and videos of her visit to Ulleungdo and Dokdo. Notably, Lee Si-young revealed a photo taken on Dokdo holding the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag).

In response to the post, netizens presumed to be Japanese left malicious comments in Japanese such as "Welcome to Takeshima," "I unfollowed you," and "It would have been better not to post this." Domestic netizens who saw these comments showed support for Lee Si-young with responses like "Dokdo is our land" and "Japanese people should not care about Dokdo."
Meanwhile, recently, there has been an increase in cases where Korean celebrities are attacked by netizens presumed to be Japanese simply for mentioning Dokdo. Last month, the girl group NMIXX sang the song "Dokdo is Our Land" on a YouTube broadcast and was subjected to malicious comment attacks from netizens presumed to be Japanese. The group BTS was also later revealed to have been mocked by Japanese right-wing forces after singing "Dokdo is Our Land" on a broadcast. Additionally, in Japan, there was a case where BTS member Jimin had some of his broadcast appearances canceled because he wore a Liberation Day commemorative T-shirt.
