Seongdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jung Won-oh) is conducting a public inspection for the designation of a maintenance area for the housing redevelopment project in the area of 382 Majang-dong until October 10.

The area is a naturally formed residential area on the hills near Hanyang University. It was a region where development was difficult due to the lack of access roads and surrounding school sites. However, reflecting the residents' continuous demands, it was nominated as a candidate site for Seoul City's Rapid Integrated Planning. As a result, in December 2021, it was selected as a candidate site for Seoul City's Rapid Integrated Planning Housing Redevelopment Project, laying the foundation for promoting the redevelopment project.

The district formed a resident participation group to promote redevelopment through resident involvement, collected opinions, and prepared guidelines for rapid integrated planning through consultations with Seoul City.

In addition, according to the guidelines, the district established a maintenance plan and held a residents' briefing session on September 24 with great interest from many residents to propose the designation of the maintenance area.

The district plans to prepare a maintenance plan reflecting the opinions of residents and stakeholders collected through the residents' briefing session and public inspection, and after hearing opinions from the district council in the second half of this year, request Seoul City to propose the designation of the maintenance area.

The public inspection procedure will continue until October 10, and the maintenance plan decision and maintenance area designation (draft) can be inspected at the Seongdong-gu Office Housing Maintenance Division and Majang-dong Community Service Center.

We will spare no effort in providing customized public support at each stage of the project.”
