Israeli Military "Hezbollah Senior Official 'Nabil Kawuk' Eliminated"

The Israeli military announced that Nabil Kawuq, a senior official of Hezbollah, the pro-Iranian armed faction in Lebanon, was killed in an airstrike on the 28th (local time).

On the 29th, multiple foreign media outlets including the Associated Press reported this news. Kawuq was a member of Hezbollah's Central Committee (Shura Council) and a former vice chairman. The AP also named him, along with Hashem Safieddine, a cousin of Hassan Nasrallah, as a strong candidate for the next leader.

On the 27th, the Israeli military deployed a squadron of F-15I fighter jets to carry out an airstrike on Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut, Lebanon's capital, where a Hezbollah leadership meeting was held.

The day before, the Israeli military announced that the attack confirmed the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, which Hezbollah officially confirmed as well.
