Travel Expenses Support for 90 People Including Disabled and Low-Income Groups
If Mobility Is Difficult, an Additional 'Travel Companion' Is Allowed
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will promote the '2024 Tourism Vulnerable Groups Happy Travel Activity Support Project' to provide travel opportunities to people with disabilities and low-income groups who have had few chances to travel, while simultaneously revitalizing the local tourism industry.
To this end, the county plans to offer travel opportunities to 90 vulnerable tourists.
The support targets are 36 people with disabilities aged 6 and above and 54 low-income individuals residing in Gokseong-gun.
In particular, this project goes beyond simple travel expense support by showing careful consideration. It supports day-trip travel products within 160,000 KRW per person, and for people with mobility difficulties or seniors aged 70 and above, an additional companion can also be supported.
This is expected to provide practical help to those facing difficulties in traveling.
Gokseong-gun’s meticulous efforts are also evident in the travel product selection process. The county plans to select travel products suitable for people with disabilities and low-income groups respectively through a public contest. Through this, they aim to provide the optimal travel experience tailored to the participants’ characteristics and needs.
A county official said, "Through this Happy Travel Support Project, we expect to expand travel opportunities for vulnerable tourists and revitalize the local tourism industry. We hope for the interest and participation of many people."
