Yushin announced on the 27th that Chairman Jeon Kyung-soo attended the opening ceremony of the Pangilman Bridge in the Philippines.
The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from both Korea and the Philippines, including Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, Henry Omaynal, Governor of Surigao del Sur, Manuel Bonoan, Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Lee Sang-hwa, Ambassador of Korea to the Philippines. Chairman Jeon was officially invited as the representative of Yushin, which was responsible for the conceptual design and construction supervision of this project.
Supported by Korea's Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), this project involves the construction of a 2.24 km bridge connecting Tangub City and Tubod area on Mindanao Island in the Philippines. It is expected to significantly contribute to revitalizing the regional economy by reducing travel time between these areas from the previous 2 hours and 50 minutes to just 10 minutes.
At the event, Philippine President Marcos expressed his thoughts, saying, "Today’s opening ceremony is a moment we have long awaited, and I believe this bridge will have a great ripple effect on the regional economy."
Chairman Jeon Kyung-soo, who attended the commemorative ceremony, has been leading the industry through continuous overseas business expansion since taking over Yushin’s management in 2018. In 2022, he was awarded the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in recognition of his contributions to the construction industry.
