"May Our Cultural Artifacts Not Recovered Return to Their Place"
Group EXO's Baekhyun was revealed to have donated 50 million won for the repatriation of cultural assets.
On the 27th, his agency INB100 announced that Baekhyun donated 50 million won to the National Museum Friends Association in January. The donation will be used to recover overseas unrepatriated artifacts.
Baekhyun is known to have delivered the donation after participating in a concert event held annually to invite sponsors for the spread of donation and gifting culture.
Initially, Baekhyun did not disclose the donation news. However, the news came to light when Baekhyun attended the 50th anniversary ceremony of the National Museum Friends Association on the 26th as a donor member.
Through his agency, Baekhyun said, "I hoped that the National Museum, representing Korea, would have a better exhibition environment and that our unrepatriated artifacts would return to their rightful place and fully connect with many people."
Founded in 1974, the National Museum Friends Association is a group of people supporting the National Museum of Korea. It has carried out various activities supporting the museum, such as cultural heritage donations, academic project support, and exhibition environment improvements.
Baekhyun is currently promoting his fourth mini-album, 'Hello, World,' released on the 6th.
